Jonric: What are the consequences like when your character dies? Are there penalties like the loss of experience points?
David Hoffman: Right now, we have an experience penalty, but you will never actually lose a level. The character will reset to the nearest town or wherever it has locked its Return Stone, so searching the world for your corpse is avoided.
Jonric: Are there many activities available when we're not engaged in combat? Are any of them particularly important or otherwise notable?
David Hoffman: A ton. It's imperative you level up your skills and learn how to control your inner magical abilities in cabal alz. Without getting too long-winded, this is what led to the destruction that happened in the past, and could lead to it again without mental control that's honed as you level up. Every character has the ability to control the Force Power, but depending on the class you pick and the magical abilities you develop, the non-combat skills are manifested in different ways.
Sean Mackay: A great example is the ability to wield Core Technology. If you master this, you'll be able to unlock ancient technology once lost. Things like Astral Cycles (futuristic motorcycles) can be created to allow players to travel great distances in a fraction of the time. Force Archers will move away from the bow and arrow to modernistic guns that increase their damage. The ability to enhance your inventory and craft old items into something new makes the non-combat functions in cabal alz first rate.
